Perms have grown up. Today's permanent wave is nothing like the tight spirals of decades past: it's soft movement, beachy waves, defined curls, or simply body in hair that falls flat no matter what you do. The result is decided by rod size and technique, not luck, which means you choose the level of curl or wave and we build it.
Every perm starts with a consultation. We assess your hair's condition and colour history, talk through the shape you want, and select the right formula and rod size to get there. From a barely-there wave to a full curl, the process and appointment time are the same; the difference is in the winding.
Heavily bleached or compromised hair may not be suitable so if you're unsure, book a free consultation before committing to an appointment and we'll check your hair in person.
You can expect it to last three to six months depending on hair type, cut, and aftercare.

ABOUT BYRON BEAUTY BAR
Byron Beauty Bar is a full-service hair salon on Fletcher Street in Byron Bay. Cuts, blow-drys, colour, Bhave keratin smoothing, hair extensions and perms are all done here, by the one team.
A cut, colour or perm starts with a consultation. Your stylist looks at your hair's condition and colour history, talks through the shape or shade you want, and tells you what it will take to get there.
Colour is applied with low-toxicity products and finished with a blow-dry, so you leave with the look complete. Keratin smoothing uses Bhave, and extensions are 100% human Remy hair.
If you are not sure which colour or treatment suits your hair, book a consultation first and we will check your hair in person. Appointments book online any time, seven days.
